I get asked quite often why I opened a used bookstore.

Here is my answer in point form:

- I love reading. Always have. Even my first date with my husband Kevin was at Chapters!
- I’ve wanted to open a used bookstore since I was teen.
- Worked at Gbooks (a family run secondhand bookstore) in Calgary, which I modelled my store after.
- The name of the store reflects part of who I am as well: I have been to Australia 3 times, the third time Kevin asked me to bring him back a platypus (one of his favourite animals), and purple has been my favourite colour my whole life. It only made sense to end up naming the store “The Purple Platypus” to reflect us both.

All of that mixed together with God’s guidance brought me to opening in 2017.
